Accra Hearts of Oak fans were understandably upset after their exit from the CAF Confederation Cup was confirmed on Sunday.
Despite a 1-0 win at the Accra Sports Stadium, Hearts were knocked out of the competition 3-1 on aggregate by AS Real Bamako after a 3-0 loss in Mali.
While the result and the subsequent elimination would have irked the Phobians’ fans, the saga surrounding the removal of Samuel Boadu and the search for his replacement has not helped to ease tensions.
It all came to a head on Sunday when agitated fans deflated the tyres of the vehicle of Board Member, Vincent Odotei Sowah who had come to see the game in protest against him and Alhaji Akanbi,.
The pair had to be barricaded inside the stadium as fans went on rampage outside, in the aftermath of the game.
