Ghanaian striker Inaki Williams has made his 350th league appearance for Athletic Bilbao a memorable one by scoring a goal on the historic day.

Williams hit the historic mark earlier tonight by starting in Athletic Bilbao’s 2-2 draw with Getafe and the 28 year old made a blistering start by scoring in the second minute.

The speedy forward raced beyond Getafe’s high defensive line to control a chipped pass from Ander Herrera and slid the ball past Getafe keeper David Soria.

Williams’ younger brother Nico assisted Raul Garcia’s goal in the 62nd minute to put Bilbao up 2-1; Getafe pegged Athletic back twice with strikes from former Barcelona players Carles Alena and Munir El Haddadi.

Inaki Williams came through Bilbao’s academy and has spent his professional career at the Basque club scoring four goals and bagging an assist in 10 league games this season.

He recently made his international debut for Ghana’s Black Stars when he came on as a second half substitute in a 0-3 loss to Brazil but started in a 1-0 win over Nicaragua in friendly games in September.

Inaki is heavily tipped to compete in the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar.
