Augustine Okrah scores for Simba in Kariakoo Derby

Ghanaian winger Augustine Okrah has scored for Simba Sporting Club against Young Africans (Yanga) Sporting Club in the Kariakoo Derby that ended 1-1.

Okrah scored in the 16th minute after a neat build up by Simba that had the former Bechem United winger slot the ball in for the game’s opening game to cap a beautiful team move.

Yanga equalized late in the first half through Aziz Ki in the 41st minute at the packed Benjamin Mkapa National Stadium in Dar Es Salaam.

However, Okrah had a handful of chances to add an assist or two to his goal production in the biggest league game in the second half but made poor decisions that had the game end in a stalemate.

Okrah has made a strong start to the season with the club he joined this immediate past offseason and scored in Simba’s 4-1 aggregate win in the CAF Champions League win over Angola’s Primeiro de Agosto to progress to the Champions League group stage.

The result means Simba and Yanga are tied at the top in the 16 team Tanzanian league standings with both having 14 points from six games played but Simba’s better goal difference puts them in first place.
