Ghanaian forward, Emmanuel Boateng continues to shine on his return to the Portuguese League by scoring in Rio Ave’s 1-0 win over Portimonense.

Boateng scored the game’s only goal in added time in the first half, calmly slotting the ball into the far right side of the post after collecting a long pass from Andreas Samaris. (Click highlighted text to watch game highlights)

Boateng had been booked earlier on in the 15th minute but Rio Ave got a numerical advantage after Portimonense defender, Fahd Moufi was sent off in the 30th minute.

The 26-year-old started the game in a 3-5-2 system that had him paired upfront with fellow Ghanaian striker Abdul Aziz Yakubu who lasted the entire duration; Boateng was replaced in the 69th minute by Leonardo Ruiz.

The goal is Boateng’s third in six league games played this season on his return to the league following his move from Chinese League side DL Yifang.

Boateng missed Rio Ave’s previous league game, a 4-2 loss against Benfica, due to an unknown injury.
