Ashgold vs GFA: High Court adjourns contempt case to November 9

A High Court in Accra has for the third time adjourned the contempt case filed against the Executive Council Members of the GFA by Ashantigold FC to Wednesday, 9th November 2022.

The Miners are seeking for the Executive Council Members to be imprisoned for what they describe as disregard for the dignity, respect, and authority of the court.

Executive Council Member, Dr. Randy Abbey was cross-examined in a mini-trial on Wednesday, October 26, 2022, to determine whether he was properly served with the interlocutory injunction by Bailiff, Ellis Armah.

Judge, Nicholas Agbodakpi will give a ruling on the mini-trial in two-weeks time.

After the November 9 ruling, the Executive Council Members open their defense.

Meanwhile, Ashantigold Football Club and the Ghana Football Association are waiting for a date to hear the substantive case involving the two parties.

The Obuasi-based club wants the court to compel the GFA to grant them a fair hearing following their demotion to Division Two for match-fixing.
