“Caleb Plant and I have a long history”- Sena Agbeko talks up potential big fight

Ghanaian Super Middleweight contender, Sena “The African Assassin” Agbeko, is adamant he is not overreaching by calling for a fight against former IBF Super Middleweight champion Caleb Plant.

Agbeko called out Plant after clinching a unanimous decision win over American Isaiah Steen recently in New Jersey to improve his record to 27 wins and two losses in his professional career.

Plant lost the IBF belt to Canelo Alvarez via technical knockout but bounced back to score a knockout on Anthony Dirrell.

Plant delivered a devastating uppercut that flattened Dirrell and his celebrations grabbed the headlines.

In an exclusive interview with Citi Sports, 30-year-old Agbeko went deep into his long history with the fighter nicknamed Sweethands.

Plant knocked out Dirrell in a grudge match

“This is the same guy who couldn’t go four rounds past me in a sparring session. I sparred this guy for two years non-stop. At one point we both had the same coach.

Part of the reason I moved to Nashville because his coach convinced me to move here so we could train together and spar together.

Between his third and 15th pro fight, me and him sparred for everyone of his fights and I helped him and those ungrateful people eventually threw me under the bus and…they basically cut me loose when things started going on well for them.” he said.

Agbeko is eyeing a fight in December to close out the year or early in 2023.
