UCL: Kudus Mohammed, two other African players win Man of the Match Awards

Ghanaian midfielder/forward, Mohammed Kudus, has won the Man of the Match Award for the second time in this season’s UEFA Champions League.

Mohammed won the top individual award after scoring and registering an assist in Ajax’s 3-1 win over Glasgow Rangers at Ibrox in Scotland.

Kudus won the Man of the Match Award in Ajax’s 4-0 win over Rangers in the first leg involving both teams and he scored in that encounter.

Despite bagging the win, Ajax’s point tally wasn’t enough to get them to the next stage of the competition and had to settle for competing in the Europa League.

Kudus and two fellow African players won the Man of the Match Award in the final round of games at the group stage of this season’s Champions League.

Mohammed Salah was recognized as the best player in Liverpool’s 2-0 win over Napoli in which he scored the first goal of the game.

Cameroonian striker, Eric Maxim Choupo-Moting scored in Bayern Munich’s 2-0 win over Inter Milan and was named Man of the Match.

Choupo-Moting

Kudus and Choupo-Moting will represent Ghana and Cameroon respectively at the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar.
