With just seven days till the start of the World Cup, Black Stars midfielder, Baba Iddrisu is expected to sit out the tournament due to an injury he picked up against Atletico Madrid.
The 26-year-old was substituted at half time in Mallorca’s 1-0 win against Atletico Madrid on Wednesday.
Iddrisu, was named in Otto Addo’s provisional 55-man Black Stars squad and was expected to make the cut for the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar but with the latest development, he will have to excuse himself from the tournament.
According to multiple sources, the GFA medical team received the news on Saturday and have reportedly already picked a replacement.
Baba Iddrisu now joins Jojo Wollacott and Richard Ofori on the players set to miss the mundial for the Black Stars.
