Black Stars head coach Otto Addo raised more than a few eyebrows at his presser after making an odd pick to win the 2022 FIFA World Cup not named Ghana.

The former footballer picked Germany to win this year’s World Cup but wasn’t too high on the 2014 World Champions chances of pulling it off.

“To win the World Cup? Normally I’ll like to go with Germany but the odds are not really in their favour at the moment” he said when responding to a question asked at Ghana’s pre-game presser before taking on South Korea.

Ghana plays the Asian nation on Monday, November 28 at 13:00 GMT after losing 2-3 to Portugal with South Korea drawing goalless with Uruguay.

Germany suffered a shock 1-2 loss to Japan and needs to win to avoid a first round exit from the competition after suffering the same fate in the 2018 World Cup held in Russia.

Addo was born in Germany and went on to play for Bundesliga clubs like Hamburg and Mainz but committed his international football career to Ghana and featured at the 2006 World Cup held in Germany.
