Jordan Ayew touts importance of “experience” in win over South Korea

Black Stars forward Jordan Ayew has touted the importance of having experienced players on the pitch in the team’s 3-2 win over South Korea.

Ghana beat South Korea to boost its chances of progression to the 2022 FIFA World Cup Round of 16 stage in Qatar after suffering 2-3 loss to Portugal in its opening game.

Jordan Ayew was heavily criticized for his performance in the loss to Portugal as his loose touch directly led to Portugal’s third goal that was scored by Rafael Leao.

However, in the aftermath of registering an assist and delivering a Man of the Match worthy performance in the important win over South Korea, the younger Ayew on the team emphasized having experienced players like him on the team.

“In every job and in everything you do in this world, experience is key and obviously we great young talents and great players as well…in the two games we showed why we are important to the team and we will keep on pushing and keep on speaking to the young ones to come around with us to buy into our ideas” he stated.

Ghana heads into the final Group H against Uruguay on Friday, December 2 at 15:00 GMT.
