Annor Walker – Black Galaxies not yet ready for CHAN tournament

Black Galaxies head coach Annor Walker doesn’t believe his team is fully cooked yet as preparations continue for the national side ahead of the start of the 2023 CHAN Tournament.

Next year’s African Nations Championship (CHAN) takes place in Algeria from January 13 to February 4 with 18 countries qualified to compete.

The CHAN tournament is a biannual competition created by Africa’s football governing body CAF that has only players plying their trade in national leagues on the continent eligible to play in.

Speaking in an interview with the Ghana Football Association’s official channel, veteran trainer Annor Walker pointed out his team’s engagement in friendly games are going well but his side isn’t in peak shape just yet.

“I’m not looking at the goals (in friendly games) I’m looking at the performance and our game plan that we are strategizing to play and to me, it’s working  but we’ve not got there yet. We continue till the final day that we leave here” he stated.
