Mudasiru Salifu future up in the air as Sheriff Tiraspol contract nears end

Kumasi Asante Kotoko Sporting Club midfielder, Mudasiru Salifu, who is on loan at Moldovan club Sheriff Tiraspol, has a contract issue on his hands.

The player’s loan contract deal with Sheriff runs out on December 31, 2022 according to popular German football outlet Transfermarkt but no official word of a contract extension for Salifu has been reported at the time of writing in the lead up to the return of football activity after the 2022 FIFA World Cup.

The 25-year-old joined Sheriff on loan from Kotoko after the contract was signed on July 18 this year

Salifu has impressed in his loan stint at the club and he has been deployed as a central midfielder, defensive midfielder and attacking midfielder in the team’s matches this season.

Though he is yet to score, Salifu has featured in 21 games and started in 15 of those games across all competitions for Sheriff while picking up five yellow cards.

At Kotoko, Salifu played 57 times for Kotoko, scored two goals and won the Ghana Premier League title with the Porcupine Warriors.
