For the third league game in a row, Ghanaian midfielder Mubarak Wakaso was not included in the KAS Eupen squad.

The latest Wakaso omission from the Eupen squad came in a 1-0 win over RFC Seraing in the round of games to mark the continuation of the Belgian Jupiler Pro League.

The league was halted for little over a month due to the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar and in its first game since the restart, Eupen picked up its sixth win of the 2022-2023 league season.

The winner came from Grenada international winger Regan Charles-Cook in the 88th minute and the win moves Eupen to 13th in the 18 team league standings.

In the lead up to the game against Seraing, Wakaso was not included in Eupen’s squad for league games against Standard Liege and Zulte Waregem.

Ghanaian defender Daniel Opare played out the entire duration of the game for Seraing while Ghana goalkeeper Manaf Nurudeen was on the bench for Eupen.

Nurudeen was part of Ghana’s team that competed in this year’s World Cup in Qatar but didn’t see any game time action.
