AFC Bournemouth Chief Executive Neill Blake has detailed the club’s significant interest in Ghanaian forward Antoine Semenyo after securing the 23 year old’s signature.

The move reportedly worth 10 million pounds and add-ons was completed late on Friday, January 27 after Bristol City rejected two transfer bids from Bournemouth.

The deal comes at a time English Premier League side Bournemouth is fighting to avoid relegation from the top division. Bournemouth recently completed deals for forward Dango Ouattara and goalkeeper Darren Randolph.

Speaking after completing the deal, Blake praised the qualities of the former Sunderland and Newport County player saying:

“Antoine is an exciting player and one we have monitored for a while. He had interest from elsewhere and so we’re delighted to welcome him to the club.”

Semenyo has been on a brilliant run since returning from the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar scoring four goals in five games.  He is in line to make his Bournemouth debut on February 4 against Brighton and Hove Albion.
