Accra Hearts of Oak returned to winning ways this weekend after two successive draws. Kwadwo Obeng’s 34th minute strike was enough to seal a 1-0 victory for the Phobians against Medeama SC in Tarkwa.

Aduana Stars dropped valuable points after drawing 1-1 with Accra Lions. Solomon Aboagye’s 69th minute strike cancelled out Abass Samari’s first half goal for Aduana Stars. Paa Kwesi Fabin’s team still leads the league standings.

Hearts arch rival Kumasi Asante Kotoko also returned to winning ways by beating Kotoku Royals in a 5-1 rout at home. Richmond Lamptey, Serge Zeze and Solomon Sarfo Taylor were on target for the Porcupine Warriors with Steven Mukwala bagging a brace.

The men from Kumasi bounced back after four consecutive draws in the league.

Raymond Kwoffie’s 14th minute goal secured three points for Samartex in their home game against King Faisal in the first of three lone goal wins on Sunday.

Great Olympics edged Karela United via Prince Afrifa’s first half strike while a Kusi Pandrous goal got the win for Berekum Chelsea in their matchup with Dreams FC.

Elsewhere Real Tamale United got a goal in each half to secure maximum points in their home game against Nsoatreman. Dankwa Stephen Badu and Abdul Manaf Umar were on target for the men from Tamale.

A 97th minute winner sealed Bibiani Gold Stars win in a five goal thriller against Tamale City on Saturday. Sampson Eduku bagged a brace for Tamale City while Emmanuel Appau and two goals from Abednego Tetteh secured three points for Bibiani.

Bechem United came from behind to beat Legon Cities 3-1 in Friday’s only fixture.
