#Donkomi: Ex Asante Kotoko striker Kwame Opoku joins Moroccan side OC Khourigba

Opoku

Former Kumasi Asante Kotoko Sporting Club striker Kwame Opoku has joined Moroccan side Olympique Club Khourigba in the Moroccan top flight (Botola Pro 1).

He made the move on the final day of the January transfer window after departing Algeria side USM Alger. The deal brings an end to a potential reunion with Kotoko.

The Porcupine Warriors were reportedly interested in resigning the forward whose brilliant start to life in Kumasi led to the move to Algeria. In 16 Ghana Premier League games, Opoku scored seven goals.

Details on the length and finances of Opoku’s Khourigba deal remain unclear; The 23 year old scored seven goals and added six assists in 38 games in all competitions for USM Alger.

Fellow Ghanaian forward Richmond Antwi was signed by Khourigba on the same day with the former Legon Cities player moving from United States of America minor league side Phoenix Rising.

Antwi

22 year old Antwi joins Khourigba as a free agent and his deal runs to June 30, 2025.

Khourigba ranks 15th in the 16 team league standings with zero wins, eight draws and eight losses in 16 games.

The team has scored eight goals and conceded 18 goals in the 2022-2023 season.
