Turkey earthquake: Akufo-Addo prays for safety of Christian Atsu

President of the Republic of Ghana, Nana Akufo-Addo has joined Ghanaians and people across the globe to pray for Black Stars winger Christian Atsu to be found sound and safe after an earthquake hit parts of Turkey where he currently plays football.

Ghanaian winger, Christian Atsu went missing in the early hours of Monday, February 6, 2023, together with Hatayaspor’s director, Taner Savut, after the earthquake.

As of 17:30GMT on Monday, these two individuals have still not been found and no contact has been made with them.

President Akufo-Addo in a series of tweets shared a solidarity message with the people of Turkey and prayed that Atsu, 31, will be found safe and sound.

Checks by Citi Sports show that many Ghanaian players plying their craft in Turkey are safe and uninjured as the incident did not happen in their region.
