82 minutes went very quickly- Joseph Paintsil speaks on latest league outing

Ghanaian winger Joseph Paintsil has described his latest league outing in the Belgian Jupiler Pro League as a situation that went by “very quickly”.

He said this in the aftermath of Paintsil’s KRC Genk’s 0-1 loss to Antwerp where he played 82 minutes before getting replaced by Angelo Preciado.

Paintsil picked up a shoulder injury in the process and an official update on the extent of the injury that could potentially affect his availability for Genk’s upcoming game against Mechelen on Friday, February 17 is yet to be confirmed.

While Paintsil wasn’t impressed with Antwerp’s defensive tactics deployed in the win over Genk, the former Ferencvaros player believes his time on the park went by quickly.

“It-the game-went very quickly. I had a few duels in the first half which made my game complicated” Paintsil said according to Belgian media outlet Walfoot.

Losing to Antwerp marked the third time Genk dropped all three points in the 2022-2023 league season; Genk stays in first place in the league while Antwerp ranks third.
