Kaizer Chiefs head coach Arthur Zwane has praised the abilities of Ghanaian striker Kwame Peprah after the former King Faisal player’s performance in the NedBank Cup.

Chiefs beat Peprah’s Maritzburg United 2-0 in the Round of 32 in extra time after the game ended goalless in regulation time.

The game was Peprah’s second outing for the South African side after securing a six month loan deal from fellow DSTV Premiership side Orlando Pirates.

Peprah lasted 73 minutes in the loss and was replaced by Amadou Soukouna but his performance caught the eye of Kaizer Chiefs head trainer.

“We warned the guys about Kwame Peprah, who is strong and good at holding the ball, but the young man number 20 still gave us problems” Zwane said.

In his debut game, Peprah scored with a header in a 1-1 draw in a league tie against Amazulu and is in line to feature in Maritzburg’s league game against Orlando Pirates on Friday, February 17 at 17:30 GMT.

Martizburg ranks 15th in the 16 team league standings.
