Thomas Partey had some muscle discomfort we have to assess him- Mikel Arteta

Partey

Arsenal head coach Mikel Arteta has given an uncertain answer to Thomas Partey’s availability for the Gunners game against Aston Villa.

Arsenal takes on Aston Villa on Saturday, February 18 at 12:30 GMT in the English Premier League after suffering a 1-3 loss to Manchester City in midweek.

Partey didn’t feature in the game after picking up a muscle injury that had Arsenal drop points and surrender the league’s first place to Man City in the process.

The London based club has played a game fewer than Man City and could regain top spot with a win but Partey’s availability is crucial to the team’s title ambitions and his presence is sure to boost the team’s chances of beating Aston Villa.

“Thomas had some discomfort in a little muscle. We have to assess him this morning and see how he is” Arteta said.

Partey has been instrumental in Arsenal’s pursuit of a first English Premier League title since 2004 with the Ghana international scoring twice in 18 league appearances this season.
