He’s a great striker; I’m happy for him – Michail Antonio on striker Eddie Nketiah

West Ham United football club striker, Michail Antonio has commended Ghanaian striker Eddie Nketiah for his fine form since taking over as the starting forward for Arsenal in the wake of Gabriel Jesus’ injury.

Antonio praised Nketiah for stepping up his production for the English Premier League leaders in the absence of Jesus, especially in Arsenal’s 3-1 win over West Ham on December 26, 2022 with Nketiah scoring Arsenal’s third goal.

Speaking on the Footballers Football Podcast, the Jamaican international talked extensively on Premier League related matters including playing against Ghana’s Mohammed Salisu, and dished out some criticism to Liverpool’s Brazilian goalkeeper Alisson Becker.

“The way he played against us – urgh. He surprised me. He surprised me! He was dropping in deep, picking it up, he rolled a couple of our defenders to score his goal. He was quality. From that moment I have watched him and he’s been doing it in so many games. He’s a great striker, and I’m happy for him. A young boy coming up, he’s showing what he can do” Antonio said.
