Richard Ofori back in training and doing well – Orlando Pirates Captain

Ofori

Orlando Pirates Captain Innocent Maela has disclosed that Black Stars and Pirates goalkeeper Richard Ofori has returned to training with the Buccaneers.

Ofori aggravated a lingering knee injury in the MTN Final 8 Cup in the lead up to the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar and the injury ended up costing Ofori a place in the Black Stars World Cup squad.

Speaking in an interview, Maela was delighted with Ofori’s return to the group but was uncertain about Ofori’s availability for team selection just yet.

“He is back in training and ready to go. He is doing very well at training. He is in a good space. Unfortunately, my knowledge about his availability and date of return is limited. But you know he is a good man and pretty humble” Maela said according to Soccer Laduma.

Orlando Pirates rank third in the DSTV Premier League with 34 points and lost to bitter rival Kaizer Chiefs 0-1; Kaizer Chiefs sits atop the league with 56 points.
