Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Kumasi Asante Kotoko, Nana Yaw Amponsah has taken a dig at the Ghana Football Association (GFA) for the meagre Ghana Premier League prize money.

According to him, the monthly salary of his former Cameroonian striker, Frank Mbella is equal to the Ghc300,000 that the champions of Ghana’s elite league take home.

This is approximately $25,000.

Mbella left Kotoko for Al Masry in Egypt ahead of the 2022/2023 season.

Nana Yaw Amponsah disagrees with the GFA on how local clubs are supported.

He is thus pushing the hashtag, #BuildingHeavenInHell, to express the financial difficulties that Ghanaian clubs are going through.

Each of the 18 teams competing in the 2022-2023 BetPawa Ghana Premier League received $25, 278 from a sponsorship sum of a million dollars provided by the betting firm.

An extra $1,000,000 was allocated to marketing and promotion of the league.
