Not having a Ghana Premier League player in Black Stars is very bad- Kotoku Royals PRO

Hughton

The Communications Head of Akyem Kotoku Royals Rush FC, Okatakyie Afrifa has described the absence players from the betPawa Ghana Premier League in the Black Stars as a “very bad” situation.

He said this in an exclusive interview with CITI Sports in the aftermath of the latest Black Stars call-ups for the 2023 African Cup of Nations qualifiers.

New Black Stars head coach, Chris Hughton named a 25-man squad to face Angola in the Group E matchup on March 23 at the Baba Yara Stadium in Kumasi, but the betPawa League had no representation in the playing unit.

“I believe the Black Stars coach has to be here in Ghana. [We should be] seeing him at our various centers watching local matches, then he can pick one or two players. At least the goal king, Mezack Afriyie, should be invited to motivate him…so I think this one is below the belt that we couldn’t have at least a player from our Premier League in the Black Stars. It’s very bad” he said.
