The future of Matic will soon be resolved – Chapters Chairman Herman Hesse

Accra Hearts of Oak Chapters Committee Chairman Elvis Herman Hesse has remained tight-lipped on the future of unsettled Head Coach Zlavko Matic following his absence in the dugout for the Club in their last two premier league games.

Fans of the club expressed their frustration at the team’s performance by halting Matic’s training session some weeks ago at the Pobiman Sports Complex prior to the Super “2” clash against arch rivals Kumasi Asante Kotoko – a game the Phobians won under the guidance of Assistant Coach David Ocloo.

Speaking to Citi Sports, Herman Hesse disclosed the top hierarchy of the Club and the supporters front will soon settle on a decision regarding Zlavko Matics’ future.

“At the moment, Zlavko Matic has become an issue for the management and the Board of the Club.”

“We at the supporter’s level, we are waiting patiently on the Board and Management to communicate to us, because it is a contractual issue.”

“I know for sure the Board is on the issue very well and very soon they will communicate to the National Chapters Committee and the general public.”

“I wouldn’t have a lot to say about it, but I know for a fact that until the Board settles the differences or whatever it is with the Coach [Zlavko Matic], Assistant Coach David Ocloo will still continue with the team, until either he Zlavko comes back or another Coach is appointed”.

Assistant Coach David Ocloo guided the team to a one-all draw at the Duns Park against Bibiani Gold Stars in the match week 21 of the Betpawa Premier league, however they face an uphill task if they want to clinch the title given their topsy-turvy form in the ongoing campaign.

Accra Hearts of Oak have already secured the 2023 President’s Cup – following the 1-0 win over arch-rivals Kumasi Asante Kotoko at the Accra Sports Stadium, a game which also serve as a league fixture.
