We will upset Kotoko in Samreboi – Samartex boss Annor Walker

Great Olympics head coach Annor Walker

Samartex Gaffer, Daniel Annor Walker and goalkeeper, Lawrence Ansah are both confident of denting Kumasi Asante Kotoko’s chances of retaining their Ghana Premier League title in the ongoing campaign.

The two teams clash in Samreboi on Saturday at the Nsenkyire Sports Complex at 3pm, in the Matchweek 22 fixture of the Betpawa Premier League.

Speaking to Citi Sports ahead of this weekend’s clash, Walker called on the fans to help create a hostile atmosphere for the Porcupines.

“I want to tell the fans to come in their numbers, because we are going to exhibit the football we played against league leaders Aduana Stars and Great Olympics away from home, and we will make them happy, like we have been doing.”

“[The fans] should come early, because the goals against Kotoko will come early.”

FC Samartex 1996 head into the fixture on the back of a goalless draw with Accra Great Olympics at the Accra Sports Stadium.

The home side lost to reigning champions, Kotoko in the first round at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium in Kumasi.

Goalkeeper, Lawrence Ansah, who was adjudged Goalkeeper of the Month for February is also confident of clinching all three points against the Porcupines.

“As Walker said initially, we are going to play good football against the Porcupines, arguably one of the biggest clubs in Ghana,” he said.

“If we get a good preparation, I am pretty confident Kotoko will not survive in Samreboi.”

Seydou Zerbo’s Kotoko currently sit fifth with 31 points, having played a game less than the teams above them, while Samartex 1996 sit ninth on the league log with 30 points.
