Chris Hughton, Assistants’ Black Stars contracts to run concurrently – GFA Comms Head

Ghana Football Association (GFA) Head of Communications, Henry Asante Twum, has stated the contract of Black Stars head coach, Chris Hughton and his assistant coaches Mas-Ud Dramani and George Boateng will run concurrently.

He said this at the official unveiling of Hughton as Black Stars head coach at the SG Mall in Kumasi and added this is the first time such an arrangement has been made.

Hughton’s contract runs till December 31, 2024 after serving as Technical Advisor to the Black Stars, in the aftermath of Ghana’s early exit from the 2021 AFCON.

“For the first time, the head coach and his two assistants will have their contracts running concurrently. The contract that Mr. Chris Hughton has signed, his two assistants have both signed the same contracts which would run until December 31, 2024” Asante Twum stated.

Ghana takes on Angola in the first of a two legged tie in the 2023 AFCON qualifiers on Thursday, March 23 at the Baba Yara Stadium in Kumasi.

The Black Stars lead Group E with a superior goal difference ahead of Angola.
