San Diego State University’s Men’s Basketball Team has been drawn to play against Florida Atlantic University (FAU) in the semifinals of the US College Men’s Basketball National Championship.

The Aztecs take on The Owls on Saturday, April 1 at 22:00 GMT at the NRG Stadium in Houston with a place in the final on the line.

Ghanaian Center, Nathan Mensah has starred for San Diego State in the team’s historic run in the national championship on the defensive end.

He is aiming to be the second Ghana-born player to win the national title after Amida Brimah won the trophy in the 2013-2014 season with the University of Connecticut (UCONN).

Brimah plays professionally with French league side JL Bourg.

Standing at 6 foot 10 inches with a 7 foot 4 inch wingspan, Mensah blocked five shots to lead all players in the category in the 71-64 win over top seed, University of Alabama.

In the quarterfinals (Elite Eight), Mensah made three blocks to lead the category in San Diego’s hard-fought 57-56 win over Creighton while adding six rebounds and eight points in 19 minutes.
