”Referee needs a refresher course” – Mumuni Aboubakar fumes after Hearts defeat

Nsoatreman FC Head Coach, Mumuni Aboubakar has blamed center referee Samena Frederick for his side’s 2-1 loss against Accra Hearts of Oak at the Accra Sports Stadium in the match week 26 fixture.

The Phobians took an early lead through Prince Ofori’s own goal following a cross from Linda Mtange.

Yaw Amankwaah Baafi later doubled their advantage with his 66th minute strike, assisted by Linda Mtange but Nsoatreman halved the deficit through Samuel Ofori to set up a tense ending to the game.

In the 70th minute, Samena awarded a penalty to the visitors for Addo Sowah’s handball but made a U-turn after a lengthy deliberation with his assistants, a decision that did not go down well with coach Mumuni Aboubakar.

Speaking at the post match conference, Mumuni is convinced the decision denied them a point away from home.

“The score line shouldn’t have been where it is had it not been poor officiating”.

“I think the referee is not on top of his game because the penalty he whistled for, who compelled him to whistle for the penalty?”

“What did he see and he whistled? What happened he has to confide in the fourth referee?”

“I think some of these things have to stop. He has thwarted our effort. Officiating has thwarted our effort.”

“That is the summary of the game.”

“I don’t know where he got those eagle eyes from.”

“I think the referee needs to go for a refresher course, the game was bigger than the referee.”

The Premier league debutants now sit in the relegation zone in 16th position with 31 points.

Nsoatreman will now go up against an inform King Faisal side under new coach Ignatious Osei-Fosu at the Nana Kronmansah Park.
