Geoffery Fadoul urges government to invest in sports infrastructure

Country Manager for Decathlon Ghana, Geoffrey Fadoul, has charged government to invest in infrastructure to boost the country’s quest to nurture young talents.

He made these comments at the sixth anniversary of Decathlon Ghana, the biggest retailers of sports equipment for athletes in the country.

The event took place at the company’s Kawukudi branch and featured various sports activities such as ballet, in-ride workout, rugby league, volley, table tennis, skating, football, basketball and E-sports.

Over 100 people were in attendance and were treated to all the sports activities, culminating in a mega dance aerobics session at the end.

Ghana, over the years, has churned out great talents in every aspect of sports, from football, athletics, and basketball to boxing.

According to him, it is imperative to prioritize infrastructure in Ghana with the objective of preparing and setting up young talents for bigger opportunities on the world stage.

“Infrastructure is in development, we at Decathlon are trying as much as possible to encourage the government, the communities, and clubs to improve their infrastructure.”

“It is in the development of these kids that we can get the better out of them with proper infrastructure and sports equipment.”

“We at Decathlon GH would like to contribute heavily to the growth of infrastructure in Ghana”

As part of the 6th-anniversary celebration by Decathlon Ghana, a Fifa tournament was organized with the e-sports association for some customers and users who trooped in to commemorate with Decathlon.

Alfred Kalu and Charles Kwame Hunu of Play Province emerged as the champion and runner-up of the Fifa competition respectively.

3rd Place went to George Osei Agyeman (Prime Lords).

Mr Fadoul further emphasized that Decathlon Ghana do have an objective of promoting Ghanaian athletes and are ready to assist them with the necessary sports equipment.

“Definitely, we always look to promote our Ghanaian athletes and support them in becoming greater athletes and to be able to compete with other athletes at the highest stage.”

“We are always here for the sports community to support with our means as much as we can”
