Middleweight Contender Sena Agbeko gets license to fight in Las Vegas

Ghanaian WBA middleweight contender Sean “The African Assassin” Agbeko has been given the license to fight in Las Vegas, Nevada after he was denied a few weeks ago.

The 31 year old was set to fight highly rated Cuban southpaw David Morrell Jnr. on the undercard of the Gervonta Davis-Ryan Garcia fight on April 22 at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas.

However, a week to the fight, Agbeko had his application for a license turned down over a reported dissatisfaction over results from MRI tests.

Agbeko refuted claims from the results and issued a press statement to shed more light on his defence; he was subsequently replaced by Brazilian Falcao Yamaguchi for the Morrell fight. (Click highlighted text to read full press release)

However, the WBA ninth ranked contender Agbeko revealed on his Facebook page his latest license application has been accepted by the Nevada State Athletic Commission.

“I’m happy to say I’ve met all requirements and currently licensed to fight in Nevada by the Nevada State Athletic Commission. More to follow!” he wrote. (Click highlighted text to read statement)
