GPL WK 30: Asante Kotoko SC drop points against Gold Stars in Kumasi

Reigning Champions Kumasi Asante Kotoko SC failed to amass victory over Bibiani GoldStars SC as poor run of form continued on Sunday at home under Interim Coach Abdulai Gazele.

As early as the 6th minute, the defending champions made count their efficiency at goal to break the deadlock. Former Karela United FC forward Solomon Safo Taylor opened the scores to put the Reds infront.

It was the first chance of the game falling for the attacker who made no mistake finding the back of the net after shaking off Banahene infront of the box to strike for his side.

Bibiani GoldStars SC created two clear chances and could have buried it for an equalizer and take a lead
but failed to convert their chances.

In form striker Abednego Tetteh scored in the stoppage time to deny Kotoko the needed win. A clinical finish from close range broke the hearts of the Porcupines at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium.

The goal marks Abednego Tetteh’s 12th goal of the season after starting brilliantly with King Faisal FC and joining Gold Stars SC in the second transfer window.

The draw leaves Asante Kotoko SC winless in their last four Premier league matches.
