Ghanaian forward, Ayo Sadiku, has officially transferred to St. John’s University where he is expected to compete on the university’s men’s basketball team.

Sadiku joins the Red Storm after completing his freshman year at Iona University where he played in the US College Basketball postseason.

Iona captured the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference title to qualify to the postseason but suffered a 63-87 loss to eventual national champions, University of Connecticut.

Sadiku moves to St. John’s to join forces with head coach Rick Pitino who praised the Asabi-Kumasi born Ayo stating,

“Sadiku Ibine Ayo can play multiple positions. He’s an outstanding athlete, and he’s one of the finest young men I have met in my 40-plus years in coaching. He is a hard worker who brings it every day with a great attitude. We are so excited to have him.”
