Teams based in former Brong Ahafo Region have displayed a “sweet and sour” performance – Raphael Gyambrah

Brong Ahafo Regional Football Association Chairman, Raphael Gyambrah has described the performance of the Bono, Bono East, and Ahafo-based teams in the premier league this season as “sweet and sour”.

Aduana FC & Bechem United have just four points separating them heading into match week 31, with Paa Kwesi Fabin’s side occupying the top spot and Kasim Ocansey Mingle’s side third on the table respectively.

Meanwhile, Nsoatreman FC are currently in the relegation zone following their recent defeat against Legon Cities at the El Wak Sports Stadium.

Speaking to Citi Sports in an exclusive interview, Ralph Gyambrah stated that the title race and relegation battle would go down to the wire this season.

ADUANA FC
BECHEM UNITED

“I would want to describe it as a sweet-and-sour situation, in the sense that, you realize that when you look at the summit of the league, you have clubs in that region [Aduana, Bechem, Berekum Chelsea] competing for the title.”

“When you come to the relegation you also have clubs in that zone struggling as well.”

“However, I am confident that, at least the Brong Ahafo clubs will survive.”

“Nsoatreman have not fared too well this season, especially on the away end, if they can pick up some home wins in the last four, I think it will be good.”

“The fight for relegation is a very difficult one, very difficult to predict at this time of the league.”

“Week in, week out, you realized the results coming in from centers, you cannot be too sure, until the last day of the season.”

“I just hope there will be a level playing field at all the centers in this crucial period.”

The Betpawa premier league enters match week 31 this weekend across all venues, with Aduana FC making a trip to Accra to face a resilient Accra Lions side under Ibrahim Tanko at the Accra Sports Stadium on Saturday, May 20,2023 .
