Undisputed Lightweight Division champion Devin Haney has labeled former lightweight champion Vasyl Lomachenko a dirty fighter in a colourful exchange between the boxers.

This is the second time Haney has called Lomachenko a dirty fighter after making the same accusation after the much anticipated bout was finalized.

Nicknamed “The Dream”, Haney said Lomachenko used dirty tactics in his unanimous win over Ghanaian boxer Richard Commey in 2021.

Haney takes on Lomachenko on the main card of the Top Rank promoted event on Saturday, May 20 at the MGM Arena in Las Vegas.

“We know what he wants to do on the inside he wants to make it a dirty fight stick with jabbing…You know that’s your best bet against me” Haney said.

Lomachenko’s Manager Egis Kilmas responded, “We have never seen him fight dirty” prompting Haney to respond, “yes I have in all of your fights the Commey fight”.

After Lomachenko quizzed Haney, “where was it dirty”, Haney countered by saying, “Punching on the inside when he (referee) say break you punch. We know what you are preparing”.

This is Haney’s first fight this year after beating George Kambossos twice in 2022. Commey has scored a draw against Jose Pedraza and a knockout loss to Jose Ramirez since losing to Lomachenko.
