U-23 AFCON: Black Meteors to begin camping today ahead of tournament

The Black Meteors of Ghana will from Tuesday, May 23, 2023, begin camping at the Ghanaman Centre of Excellence at Prampram ahead of the U-23 Africa Cup of Nations in June.

The camp will start with twenty-two local-based players who have been invited by the head coach, Ibrahim Tanko.

The players named cut across the various divisions in Ghana with a majority coming from the betPawa Ghana Premier League.

The final team will however be composed of foreign-based and local-based players with the likes of Ernest Nuamah, Daniel Afriyie Barnieh, Abdul Fatawu Issahaku, and Emmanuel Yeboah expected to be in the final squad for the tournament,

Ghana has been put in Group A with the host nation, Morocco, Guinea and Congo who are both debutants in the tournament.

The tournament will start on June 24, 2023, and the Top Three will earn an automatic spot in the Paris 2024 Olympics.
