Elisha Owusu

Black Stars midfielder, Elisha Owusu,’s struggles with injuries continue as he missed out on competing in AJ Auxerre’s 1-2 loss to Paris St. Germain.

His absence from the contest means the 25-year-old is yet to play a game in the French Ligue 1 after joining Auxerre from Belgian side Gent in January.

Owusu was not included in the Auxerre squad that lost to PSG marking the 17th time the former Sochaux player has missed a Ligue 1 game.

Since joining Auxerre, Owusu has featured in one game in the French Cup but missed 17 league games with a hamstring contusion.

Prior to his move to Auxerre to team up with fellow Black Stars player Gideon Mensah, Owusu missed nine games across multiple competitions to syndesmotic ligament tear.

Auxerre sits just a point and a place (16th) outside the relegation zone in Ligue One. Owusu was part of the Black Stars team that competed at the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar.
