It is my duty to improve on my knowledge of the GHPL – Chris Hughton

Black Stars head coach Chris Hughton has stated it is his responsibility to know the BetPawa Ghana Premier League better.

He said this at a press conference following the Black Stars second training session ahead of the team’s 2023 AFCON qualifier against Madagascar on Sunday, June 18.

He addressed the media on the inclusion of Bechem United striker Hafiz Konkoni to the Black Stars camp, and added that the newbie did well in the training session and says Konkoni is one he “enjoys watching”.

Since being named head coach of Ghana’s national men’s football team, Hughton has been spotted at various league centers.

“To be honest with you, I don’t know him- Hafiz- so well and my responsibility over this period of time is to know the league better. I have been trying to participate in as many games as I can and I will continue to do that and as I continue to do that I will get better knowledge of the league in general but probably more importantly for us, I will get better knowledge of individual players.”
