French international Boubacar Kamara has postponed his honeymoon trip to honour a late invitation to the French national men’s football team.
The call up is a late invitation for Kamara as an injury replacement to Adrien Rabiot who has been ruled out of the upcoming international games due to a calf injury.
The newly wedded couple had planned to fly to Paris for their honeymoon but Kamara had to return to Marseille to honour France national team head coach Didier Deschamps call.
Kamara’s wife, Coralie Kamara Porrovecchio shared images of the cancelled trip while expressing “I don’t know whether to laugh or cry” and their trip was postponed “for the good cause”.
France is scheduled to play 2024 European Championship qualifiers against Gibraltar and Greece June 16 and June 19 respectively.
With the call up, Kamara is in line to add to his three caps for France; he played in games against Croatia (twice) and Austria.
The 23 year old Kamara made 24 appearances in his debut season at Aston Villa after transferring from Marseille. He registered an assist in the English Premier League.
