New Legon Cities boss Paa Kwesi Fabin exudes enormous experience – Kwame Dwomoh Agyemang

Communications Director of Legon Cities, Kwame Dwomoh Agyemang, says the rationale behind the management’s decision to appoint former Black Starlets Head Coach, Paa Kwesi Fabin as the club’s new Gaffer, was purely down to his experience on the local terrain.

Fabin guided Aduana Stars to a second-place finish in the Ghana Premier League last season and comes in to replace Maxwell Konadu, who, on the other hand, led the Royals to a ninth-place finish.

Speaking to Citi Sports in an exclusive interview, Kwame Dwomoh Agyemang says he is confident Fabin’s overwhelming experience will bring the club’s quest for a successful 2023/24 campaign to fruition.

“Paa Kwesi Fabin is a very experienced coach; he’s been around a lot of teams in the Ghana Premier League.”

“One of the reasons he was brought in is that per the module we want to run going forward, we are confident he’ll be able to work well with the younger talents coming through the ranks.”

“Looking around, we felt that his CV matches what we are looking for. He has also worked with players at a very high level, coaching a lot of talents coming through the ranks of junior high school, senior high schools. He has coached a number of top players in the Ghana Premier Peague as well.”

“With all these [credentials], we believe his experience on the local terrain will be brought to bear for us [Legon Cities] when the 2023/24 league season commences on September 15.”

64-year-old Fabin will begin his new role on August 1, with details of his contract to be revealed soon.

Konadu joined the Nsoatre-based side at the end of the 2022/23 season after helping Legon Cities survive relegation from the Premier League.

His departure led to the club’s appointment of Fabin, who will be in the dugout for the new season.

Fabin was close to guiding Aduana Football Club to league triumph last season until they faltered in the latter part of the season.
