Former Black Stars and Hearts of Oak player, Charles Taylor has hit back at critics of Ghana Football Association (GFA) boss, Kurt Okraku who claim the latter runs the association on the basis of nepotism.
This comes on the back of a petition filed at the FIFA Ethics Committee that alleged that a number of the GFA’s staff were directly related to Mr. Okraku.
Taylor, however, believes Kurt Okraku deserves the support of the people, adding that he would love to see the current GFA President’s tenure extended.
“We need to give him our support. When he does something and it succeeds, he does it for Ghana. It will not be for his house,” Taylor said in an interview with Adom TV.
“People sometimes say he has brought in his family members to govern the FA. Even in government, they are using some family members to govern some parts. The work is all about if the person can deliver. If the Black Stars lose a game, the coaches should be blamed, and not Kurt,” he added.
The GFA Election Committee is expected to announce the roadmap for the upcoming elections, expected to happen in October this year.
