Prior experience in Africa will help us in Champions League campaign – Medeama Administrator

Medeama Administrator Patrick Akoto

Administrative Manager of Medeama Sporting Club, Patrick Akoto, says the club’s previous run in a CAF organized competition will play a key role in their upcoming CAF Champions League campaign.

Medeama take on Remo Stars Football Club from Nigeria in the first round of the competition on August 20.

Ongoing work at the TNA Stadium means Medeama won’t be able to play the game in Tarkwa; the Cape Coast Stadium will host the game.

Speaking in an exclusive interview with Citi Sports, Patrick Akoto pointed to Medeama’s 2017 run in the CAF Confederation Cup as a learning phase the club will use in the upcoming tournament.

“It’s about investment, it’s about incentives, it’s about getting the right quality players to compete at the top level, it’s about getting the resources required to make travel arrangements very easy. [We’ve learnt from] all these challenges and we are experienced. So we will take all the experience and see how it goes.”
