“This is part of Medeama’s plans” – Club President speaks on mass player exodus

Medeama SC President Moses Armah

President of reigning Ghana Premier league champions Medeama SC, Moses Armah “Parker”, revealed their recent transfer activity with Maltese based club Sirens FC  as a planned exercise within the club’s management.

On August 21, 2023 Medeama SC announced nine players from their ranks will move on to Sirens FC in Malta.

The deal is unique as the Betpawa Ghana Premier League has not seen nine players simultaneously leave one Ghana premier league team directly to another club destination in Europe.

Moses Parker, however, in an interview with Yaw Ampofo Ankrah clarified that the deals have been in the pipeline for sometime.

“This is part of Medeama SC’s plans and we are looking for another proposal from Europe or Asia but for now this is the one that has been completed.

“I traveled to Malta a few weeks ago and spent several days concluding the process but it began a year ago and with the officials of FC Sirens coming to Ghana to scout for players” he said

“Players who have been registered for the CAF Champions League campaign will not be released but those that went were agreed upon before the 2022/2023 season ended” he added

This comes as a relief to some fans who were weary their CAF Champions league aspirations would be affected by the club’s recent transfer activity.

Medeama take on Remo Stars in the second leg of their CAF Champions league tie at Remo Stars Stadium on Sunday, August 28 after defeating the Nigerian side 1-0 in the home tie in Ghana.
