“Olympique Lyon is the best move in my career” – Ernest Nuamah

Ghana’s Ernest Nuamah has described joining French side Olympique Lyonnais as the best move in his career at the moment.

The 19-year-old attacker is now the fourth Ghanaian to play for the French giants, following in the steps of Abedi Ayew Pele, John Mensah & Michael Essien.

The Right to Dream Academy graduate joins the Ligue 1 side on loan from Nordsjaelland.

Speaking after his unveiling by the Club, the Black Stars attacker revealed the French club offers him the right space to grow and blossom into a great player.

I think it was the right choice, lots of clubs were interested in me, you know there were alot of discussions.

The most important thing is this move, i feel like this is the best move for me.

I still wanna develop as a player, and Lyon is the best move for me.

I feel like i fit more in the team, because of the style of play and the structures here.

Following an explosive season with Nordsjaelland in the 2022/23 season, Lyon were successful in landing one of Ghana’s hottest prospect in Europe.

Nuamah scored five goals in four games for Nordsjaelland in the ongoing season before completing his move to Lyon.

The Danish Superliga club disclosed that the 19-year-old Black Stars forward has been directly loaned to Olympique Lyonnais after joining Belgium Jupiler Pro League side RWD Molenbeek on a permanent deal.

Eagle Football, the owners of Olympique Lyonnais, are also the owners of the newly promoted Belgium top-flight club, RWD Molenbeek.

Nuamah in a post on his social media pages has sent well wishes to the club and fans after completing his move to Lyon.
