Dreams Football Club Administrative manager, Ameenu Shardow, has stated he was responsible for ensuring that incumbent Ghana Football Association (GFA) President Kurt Okraku’s nomination forms were well endorsed.

He said this in an interview on Citi FM’s Sports Panorama as controversy continues to brew over the disqualification (at the time of writing) of George Afriyie from running for the GFA Presidency over an ineligible endorser on Afriyie’s form.

Shardow who is closely associated to the GFA President, stated in his capacity as a Ghana football stakeholder that George Afriyie’s “disqualification was down to his people letting him down.” (Click highlighted text to read full story)

“I was the one in charge of ensuring (that) the form of Kurt Okraku was well endorsed. After I had done my work, I appeared before an internal panel for them to vet the process. Each individual who was on Kurt Okraku’s form, I was asked stringent questions.

I superintended over this in fact I had the privilege to do the same in the last elections (in 2019) and I was given the responsibility to ensure that the form had been filled and all the relevant documents have been gathered. After, I just didn’t go and submit it I appeared before an internal panel.”
