We want to play attacking football like Holland- Hearts of Oak head coach states

Accra Hearts of Oak Sporting Club head coach Martinus Koopman says he wants his team to play football in an attacking sense like the Netherlands.

Koopman, who is Dutch, made this statement after guiding Hearts to register its debut win in the 2023-2024 Betpawa Premier League season. Dutch football is famed for its attack minded principles.

Hearts beat Nsoatreman FC 1-0 at the Accra Sports Stadium in Week 2 round of games in the young campaign.

The Phobia club lost 1-0 to Real Tamale United in the opening round but a Kashala Ramos goal in the seventh minute set up the win over Nsoatreman.

Speaking after the win, the veteran coach was happy with the result and opined how he wants his team to play ultimately.

“I think we deserved it (the win). We had a heavy week because everybody was disappointed (with the loss to Tamale)…I think altogether we deserved the three points. We want to play like Holland attacking football.”

Hearts of Oak ranks 10th in the 18 team league standings and is scheduled to play league leader Bofoakwa Tano on Saturday, September 30.
