2024 Women’s World Cup Qualifiers : Ghana’s Black Princesses put three past Guinea-Bissau

Ghana’s U-20 Women’s national, also known as the Black Princesses put on a fine display on Sunday to see off their Guinea-Bissau counterpart with a 3-0 victory.

The Ghanaian side nicknamed the Black Princesses locked horns with the opponent today in the first meeting of the tie in the second round of the African qualifiers for the 2024 FIFA U20 Women’s World Cup.

In a game played at the Estadio 24 de Setembro in Bissau, the Black Princesses dominated the game to secure the first-leg win.


The first half ended with Ghana having a narrow lead.

After recess, the Black Princesses continued to dominate their Guinea-Bissau counterpart and scored two additional goals.

Mary Amposah doubled the lead for Ghana in the 69th minute before Mercy Attobrah added a third in the 77th minute for Yusif Bassigi’s side.

The Black Princesses will now return to Ghana to prepare for the reverse fixture scheduled for the Accra Sports Stadium on Saturday.

The Black Princesses will face Eswatini next in the third round of the qualifiers if they manage to progress from the second round of the qualifying phase.
