My expectations were blown away- Okoampah on “very successful” maiden Mode Basketball Camp

Ghanaian basketball player Maxwell Okoampah says the maiden edition of the Mode Basketball Camp was mind blowing.

He said this in an exclusive interview with Citi Sports on the final of a two day basketball training program led by Okoampah, Camp co-founder Rebecca May and a handful of coaches including Spintex Knights trainer Selorm Amedeku at the University of Ghana.

100 young players were drafted to participate in the program and former Mfantsipim School and University of Saskatchewan star Okoampah tagged the event a “very successful” one.

“My expectation for this camp was high but with the spirit of the kids and coaches, it’s been higher, it’s mind blowing. I see it (camp) as a way to give back to these kids.”

“I’ve been trying to do this for the past six years. The camp has been very very successful. The next phase for this camp is to hold this camp every year.”

The 6 foot 6 inch Power Forward says he plans on embarking on a professional basketball career in Europe.
