Basing GFA’s performance on performance of the Black Stars is wrong- Lord Zico

Ghana's starting unit in a friendly game against Liberia

Ghana Football Association (GFA) Executive Council member Kingsley Osei Bonsu, popularly known as Lord Zico, says it is wrong to base the GFA’s performance on the performance of the Black Stars.

He said this in an exclusive interview with Citi Sports ahead of being retained as an Executive Council member at the recently held GFA Elections in Tamale.

Ghana’s National Men’s Football Team-Black Stars- is due to play in international friendly games against Mexico and USA on October 15 and October 18.

“People assess the performance of the GFA based on the performance of the Black Stars and I don’t think is the best because if am an administrator, I do what is expected of me as far as putting the Black Stars into good shape as far as a pending match is concerned.”

“If they go to the field and they are not able to perform, it’s difficult to tell me that as an administrator I didn’t do my best so I find it difficult to accept that blame being put on the administrators.”

The Bechem United CEO retained his EXCO seat with three other incumbent members.
