West Ham United manager David Moyes has dropped a major hint about Ghanaian midfielder Mohammed Kudus’ possible inclusion in the Hammer starting lineup.

Kudus has started off the bench for The Hammers in the English Premier League since moving from Ajax Amsterdam. Kudus has played five times in the league this season with all appearances coming as a substitute.

Moyes indicated this in his pregame press conference in the lead up to West Ham’s game against Aston Villa on Sunday, October 22.

“He is very close to playing (in the starting unit) but he was closed when he arrived. He came off the bench and made a brilliant impact for us (against Newcastle United) so that’s what we need.”

“We need more than 11 players, we need to have a group of players who when called on can make a difference and Mo done that last week.”

Kudus came off the bench to score a fine equalizer in a 2-2 draw with Newcastle United; the goal was his first in the Premier League.

The former FCNordsjaelland player has started games for West Ham in the Europa League and Carabao Cup.
